Never get lost again with what3words

Britannia Rescue have partnered with what3words to help make being stranded "erm, somewhere southbound on the M25?" a thing of the past
What3words is a global addressing system that makes it really simple to communicate exact locations. They've divided the world into 3m x 3m squares, and given each square a unique combination of three words. The addresses are easy to say and share, and are as accurate as GPS coordinates.

For example, 50.723700, -1.907700 becomes shot.tilt.supply.
We're asking all of our customers to download the app (it's free!) from either the Apple app store or Google play store before you set off on your journey. That way should the worst happen and you breakdown in the middle of nowhere, we can still find you easily.
Providing you've already downloaded the app, you won't need internet access to use it. This is because the app uses GPS.
Yes, what3words is free to download and use.
No, if you use what3words won't be able to track you or hold any data on you with the app.
what3words isn’t a navigation app like Google Maps. It’s a global addressing system that makes it really simple to communicate exact locations. You can use what3words alongside Google Maps to find precise destinations, and to save and share exact locations faster and more easily than ever before.

Google Maps doesn’t make it easy to share a location of, say, your exact location on the M25 or a wrong turn down a country lane. This is because when entering a street address into Google Maps, a pin typically drops in the centre of a building or postcode, rather than an exact entrance. That's where what3words comes in.

In addition, dropping a pin on to Google Maps isn’t useful if you need to share that location with someone over a phone call, or enter it into an address field.
