Breakdown cover is a type of insurance policy that can help you if your vehicle breaks down. For example, if you get a puncture your breakdown provider can assist you so your vehicle doesn't get stranded on the roadside.
With Britannia Rescue we provide 5 levels of cover to suit everyones needs, from roadside assist to UK and European assist, we've got you covered should the worst happen!
If you do experience the dreaded breakdown we're just a phone call away! Our customers just need to have the following information ready to provide:
Your policy number and the phone number you're calling from
Exact details of where you are
If you have personal cover and are not in your nominated vehicle you'll need the make, model and registration number of the vehicle you are driving or travelling in
Britannia Rescue also have a partnership with what3words so not knowing where you have broken down is a thing of the past!
Certain size and weight limits apply but, generally, we cover any motorised vehicle requiring motor insurance to be driven on public roads e.g. cars, motorbikes, motorcaravans, motorhomes and vans.
We don't cover vehicles used for hire and reward.
Yes, we'll recover you to a local repairer. You'll have to cover any costs for the repair/replacement.
Our breakdown cover starts from just £33 a year, with five different levels of cover to choose from so you only pay for what you need.

If you’re already overseas with the car you want to cover then, unfortunately, we won’t be able to cover you for that trip.

If you have UK & European Assist breakdown cover, your nominated vehicle is covered in the following countries in addition to the UK and Republic of Ireland:

Personal cover for breakdown is an optional extra, so you can choose to add this when you set up your breakdown policy. This extra level of cover is great for people who travel in lots of different cars - like carpooling for work, for example.
By choosing personal cover, both you and your spouse/partner are protected as passengers or drivers in any privately owned vehicle in the UK. In the unfortunate event of a breakdown, our Britannia Rescue team will be there to make things right and get you where you need to go.
Remember, you can't use personal cover while you are outside the UK.
