History
At Britannia Rescue, we've been providing excellent breakdown recovery for over 25 years. We've come a long way since then but still pride ourselves on the service we offer to our members.

1983
Britannia Rescue was founded by the CSMA (Civil Service Motoring Association) to provide breakdown cover to their members and other organisations.
2002
We'd grown and extended our service to offer breakdown assistance to larger organisations including insurance companies.
2007
We were acquired by LV= Liverpool Victoria (the UK's largest Friendly Society). LV= has no shareholders and, as a mutual organisation, exists wholly for the benefit of its members and customers. Together with its subsidiary companies, the Society is one of the top insurance and financial services businesses in the United Kingdom.
Driving in 1983*:
- it became law to wear seatbelts in the front
- wheel clamps were first used in London
- cars on the road included the Austin Maestro and the first generations of Vauxhall Astra and Volkswagen Golf
